Christmas is preeminently a feast of joy. There’s a gladness that infuses the Christmas season, expressed in the exchange of gifts and warm greetings, the familiar refrains of Christmas music, the decorated tree and lights, and the radiant faces of children with sparkling eyes as they eagerly await Christmas day. During this season, we share a glimpse of humanity’s deep longing for celebration, joy, love, peace, sharing, and unity. These are the true gifts of Christmas.
The message of Christmas is one of rebirth. It is a sacred time, offering the opportunity for inner reflection and a renewed sense of faith, hope and vision. For me, this vision is about the uniting of heaven and earth, for each one of us as individuals and as a unified whole in the NOW.
Both Christmas and Hanukkah celebrate Divine Light. May we strive to express the spark of Divine Light within us by listening to the wisdom of our hearts, and by acting with love, kindness, and forgiveness at all times.
May God bless you with clarity of purpose and courage so that you may live from the true calling of your heart; where God’s Spirit dwells and where our “doing” is truly a reflection of our “being.”
May God bless you with the understanding that you have a unique purpose to fulfill, and that as an individual you can benefit your family and community through your thoughts and actions. When we unite with others, we can make a constructive difference in the world.
And may we continue our work of love and healing in God’s Loving Spirit, continually creating and breathing new life and grace into everything and everyone we touch.
I wish for you all of the blessings of the Winter Solstice, Hanukkah, and Christmas.
